Commuting habits are changing. Instead of sitting in traffic, people are increasingly opting for public transport or cycling – driven by a sense of responsibility toward the environment, their personal wellbeing, or both. STIHL Tirol is actively supporting this trend. Since the beginning of 2025, the company has offered employees the opportunity to lease their dream bike via JobRad – it’s cost-effective, flexible and free from administrative roadblocks. Harald Ganster, Head of Shopfloor IT and a member of the company for over 25 years, is among those who have taken advantage of this opportunity. For him, STIHL Tirol’s JobRad initiative provided the impetus to fulfil a long-held dream:
“I've been toying with the idea of getting an e-bike for some time. The bike leasing option at STIHL Tirol finally prompted me to make the decision.” Harald Ganster chose an e-mountain bike from a local specialist dealer and describes his experience as entirely positive: “I received excellent advice, a precise fitting and great service.”
He primarily plans to use his new bike for leisure purposes: for long tours in the region and adventures with his son. “We'll ride the occasional downhill trail or visit a bike park together.”
JobRad – more than just a bike: a plus for everyday life
STIHL Tirol’s JobRad scheme shows how modern employers are rethinking mobility. The benefits are clear:
A sign of sustainability – and appreciation
This initiative is not just a contribution to sustainable mobility, it’s a reflection of the corporate culture at STIHL Tirol. The scheme supports employees in shaping a healthy, balanced lifestyle that extends beyond the workplace.
Harald Ganster sums it up: "For me, this isn’t just a perk, it’s a genuine sign of appreciation. STIHL Tirol is helping me lead a healthier, more active and more environmentally conscious life.”
Future in motion
Mobility at STIHL Tirol keeps moving forward. The JobRad programme is already valued by many employees – whether for commuting, recreation or improving quality of life. After all, when you get on a bike, you’re not just cruising, you’re boosting momentum for your everyday life, the environment and corporate culture.
