Langkampfen, 29 May 2019
On 23rd May 2019, the garden equipment manufacturer STIHL Tirol, based in Langkampfen, received an award from the Social Ministry Service Tyrol in Innsbruck for its exemplary commitment to the employment of people with disabilities. The team at STIHL Tirol is pleased to have been awarded this distinction within the scope of an initiative that has now been around for 15 years. The company first received the award in 2015 and this year it has been reaffirmed.
"Social responsibility plays a major role at STIHL Tirol. We are not just talking about one-sided opportunities and perspectives. People with disabilities are a gain for everyone in the company", emphasised Claudia Petri, head of human resources at STIHL Tirol. Alois Lamplmeier, the works council chairman at STIHL Tirol, added: "By employing people with disabilities, we want to safeguard their opportunities, open up new perspectives and support them in leading an independent life."
STIHL Tirol often awards open bid contracts to regional institutions that employ people with disabilities. For example, the company works with Lebenshilfe Kufstein, a social organisation for people with disabilities.
