STIHL has a long and successful history when it comes to training and apprenticeships, especially at its main site in Germany. The model has proven so successful there that the same approach has also been introduced at international STIHL locations in recent years. In the USA, for example, training by STIHL Inc. offers many young people a unique opportunity to enhance their career prospects. The STIHL plant in Brazil introduced training based on the German model in 2013, while in the STIHL plant in Qingdao, China, we launched an internship program together with the Chambers of Commerce Abroad back in 2011.
STIHL Tirol is actively committed to fostering young talent. By partnering with schools and universities on long-term educational initiatives, the company supports students from an early stage. Practical educational projects such as summer internships and Girls’ Day give pupils valuable insights into both technical and commercial professions. These experiences enable young people to make informed decisions when selecting an apprenticeship or dual study programme.
A special highlight is our close partnership with MCI Innsbruck, especially in the areas of production, automation and digitalisation. Since 2023, we have been collaborating with the Center for Production, Robotics & Automation to develop innovative solutions for our production facility in Langkampfen. This collaboration gives students the opportunity to analyse production processes, develop automation concepts and implement initial prototypes. The partnership not only offers practical experience but also plays an active role in advancing our production technologies.

Our trainees benefit from modern apprenticeship programmes, individual support and hands-on learning. The training is supplemented by exciting projects, regular further training courses and attractive bonuses for good performance. Upon successful completion of an apprenticeship, trainees have an excellent chance of securing a permanent position.
