In 2026, STIHL is celebrating its 100th anniversary. Since its founding in 1926, the family-owned company has stood for a pioneering spirit, quality and a commitment to continually improving work in and with nature. What began as a small workshop has grown over the decades into a globally successful enterprise.
Part of this story is also being written in Tyrol. The Langkampfen site is now an important part of the STIHL Group’s international development and manufacturing network. Ground-based garden tools such as lawnmowers are manufactured here for markets around the world, along with a range of other production solutions.
The roots of the site extend back to the VIKING brand. Its international focus began when the company joined the STIHL Group in 1992. The rebranding to STIHL in 2017 made visible what had long been reality: the Tyrolean site had become an integral part of a strong global brand.
Today, specialists from many different fields work together in Langkampfen to continuously develop products and processes. Expertise, commitment and collaboration are central to the way the site operates and provide the foundation for its continued development.
The anniversary year is also visible across the site. Elements featuring the 100-year design and special anniversary merchandise serve as daily reminders of this milestone. Another highlight is the new corporate film, which traces the story of STIHL from its beginnings and into the future.
100 years of STIHL is therefore not only an opportunity to look back. It also highlights what matters for the future: innovative strength, responsibility and the commitment of the many people who have shaped the company over generations.
