On 16 January 2026, STIHL Tirol placed the spotlight on collaborative robotics. The second Cobot Workshop was held as part of a joint project with the MCI Entrepreneurial School’s Center for Production, Robotics & Automation.
The morning session welcomed students from the middle school in Langkampfen, giving them their first insights into modern robotics. In addition to cobots designed for industrial application, a four-legged mobile robot, colloquially known as a “robot dog”, proved to be a particular highlight. Controlled interactively, it showcased the agility and versatility of today’s robotic systems.
After a brief introduction, the students had the opportunity to try programming, test processes and experience firsthand how humans and machines work together. The workshop provided practical exposure to new technologies and helped bring technical career opportunities at the Langkampfen site to life.
In the afternoon, the workshop also opened to STIHL Tirol employees. Together with experts from MCI, participants worked with the robot systems, tested motion sequences and explored concrete application scenarios. The aim was to share knowledge, get people comfortable with using the technology, and demonstrate how accessible these innovations are, even without prior experience.
