STIHL TIROL Solutions+: leveraging existing strengths

The Solutions+ initiative at STIHL Tirol gives external companies access to selected expertise, technical infrastructure and years of industrial experience. The concept is simple: capabilities that have proven their worth over many years at the Langkampfen site in the areas of development, production and logistics can also be put to effective use in other industrial applications.

The Langkampfen site brings together a broad range of disciplines, including research and development, simulation and calculation, test and measurement, component manufacturing, series production, logistics and warehousing. These capabilities are complemented by the technical infrastructure required for a wide range of tasks throughout product development and production processes.

This combination forms the foundation of Solutions+. Depending on the specific requirements, individual capabilities can be deployed as needed or multiple disciplines can be combined.

Solutions+ covers development and calculation work, testing, analysis and technical validation, as well as manufacturing and logistics. For example, acoustic analyses can be carried out in the sound measurement room, while electronic components and systems can be tested for electromagnetic compatibility in the EMC laboratory. The on-site plastics manufacturing facility, backed by years of experience in industrial series production, is also available for external applications.

External companies therefore gain access not only to existing facilities and infrastructure, but also to the experience of specialists who successfully apply these capabilities every day in an industrial environment for the STIHL brand.

This is precisely where the strength of the third-party business lies: Solutions+ builds on the existing knowledge, infrastructure and established processes of STIHL Tirol, making the expertise used to develop and manufacture the company’s own products available for external projects.

The initial projects and discussions have shown us that there is demand. What is particularly exciting is that, through Solutions+, we are bringing together a diverse range of expertise from across our site, enabling us to address challenges that extend far beyond our own products.
